How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is one tablet once a day.

Method

Take this medicine by mouth. Swallow the tablet whole with plenty of liquid, such as a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablets. Take the tablets in the mornings at about the same time each day.

Important

Do not exceed one tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Rash or itching
  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
  • Weakness
  • Stuffy nose
RARE
  • Low blood pressure, including when standing up (you might feel faint or dizzy)
  • Skin reactions like rash or hives (itchy, swollen bumps)
  • Swelling of the lips, face, throat, or tongue
  • Shortness of breath
  • Swelling of the face, skin, and mucous membranes (angioedema)
  • Kidney problems, including kidney failure
  • Joint pain
  • Swelling in the intestines (intestinal angioedema) with symptoms like stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to eprosartan or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver disease.
  • Do not take if you have severe kidney blood flow problems.
  • Do not take if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking aliskiren (another blood pressure medicine).
  • Do not take if you are more than 3 months pregnant, and avoid during early pregnancy as well.

  • This medicine may make you feel sleepy or dizzy. If this happens, do not drive or use machines and talk to your doctor.
  • Tell your doctor if you are on a low-salt diet, as this can affect your blood volume and sodium levels.
  • Tell your doctor if you have heart problems like coronary artery disease, heart failure, narrowed blood vessels or heart valves, or heart muscle issues.
  • Tell your doctor if you have been vomiting or have diarrhea, or if you are taking water pills (diuretics), as this can lower your blood volume.
  • If you get stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea after taking Teveten, talk to your doctor.
  • This medicine should not be given to children or teenagers under 18 years of age.
  • Teveten may be less effective at lowering blood pressure in black patients.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. Monitor renal function and potassium concentrations during the pharmacotherapy. Avoid concurrent use of NSAIDs. (updated 14.4.2025)
