How to Use

Dosage

One vial (1000 mg/4 ml) administered every 10-14 weeks.

Method

Administered as a very slow intramuscular injection by a doctor or nurse.

Important

The maximum frequency is one vial (1000 mg/4 ml) every 10 weeks; your doctor will adjust the interval to avoid overdose.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Abnormally high red blood cell count
  • Weight gain
  • Hot flashes
  • Acne
  • Enlarged prostate and related problems
  • Various injection site reactions (e.g., pain, bruising, or irritation)
RARE
  • Allergic reactions
  • Increased appetite
  • Changes in blood test results (e.g., increased blood sugar or fat levels)
  • Depression, emotional disturbances, insomnia, restlessness, aggression, or irritability
  • Headache, migraine, or tremor
  • Cardiovascular disorders
  • High blood pressure
  • Dizziness
  • Bronchitis, sinusitis, cough, or shortness of breath
  • Snoring or voice problems
  • Diarrhea or nausea
  • Changes in liver values
  • Hair loss or various skin reactions (e.g., itching, redness, dry skin, dandruff, oily skin)
  • Joint pain, limb pain, muscle symptoms (e.g., cramps, muscle pain or stiffness), increased blood creatine phosphokinase levels
  • Urinary tract disorders (e.g., weakened urine flow, urinary retention, increased need to urinate at night)
  • Prostate disorders (e.g., prostate growth disorder, prostate hardening or inflammation), changes in sexual desire, testicular pain, hardening, tenderness or growth of breasts, increased female and male sex hormone levels
  • Fatigue, general weakness, excessive sweating, or night sweats
  • Lung microembolism symptoms like cough, shortness of breath, feeling unwell, excessive sweating, chest pain, tingling sensations, or fainting (these are usually temporary)
  • Suspected anaphylactic reactions
  • Brief pauses in breathing during sleep
  • Increased hair growth
  • More frequent erections
  • Yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice)
  • Stopped or reduced sperm production (reversible)
  • Prolonged, painful erections (priapism)
  • Fluid retention and swelling

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to testosterone undecanoate or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have or suspect you have male hormone-dependent cancer, prostate cancer, or breast cancer.
  • Do not use if you have or have had a liver tumor.
  • This medicine is not for use in women.
  • Talk to your doctor before using this medicine if you have or have had epilepsy, heart, kidney, or liver diseases, migraines, temporary breathing pauses during sleep (apnea), cancer, high blood pressure, or blood clotting disorders.

  • If you have severe heart, liver, or kidney failure, this treatment can cause serious complications like fluid retention and heart failure.
  • This medicine should not be used in children or adolescents.
  • This medicine is not for building muscle or improving athletic performance in healthy people and can lead to a positive doping test.
  • Misuse of testosterone can cause serious health problems, including heart and blood vessel issues (potentially leading to death), mental health problems, and liver damage, especially if used excessively or with other anabolic steroids.
  • Your doctor will perform blood tests to check your testosterone levels and complete blood count before and during treatment.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category D
