How to Use

Dosage

One ampoule/vial (4 ml) of Testosterone Orifarm is given.

Method

It is given as a very slow injection into a muscle.

Important

The doctor will determine the correct interval to ensure testosterone levels are not too high; usually 10-14 weeks between injections.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Acne
  • Pain at the injection site
  • Abnormally high number of red blood cells
  • Weight gain
  • Hot flashes
  • Enlarged prostate and related problems
  • Various reactions at the injection site (e.g., pain, bruising, or irritation)
RARE
  • Allergic reaction
  • Increased appetite, changes in blood test results (e.g., high blood sugar or fat levels)
  • Depression, mood swings, sleeplessness, restlessness, aggression, or irritability
  • Headache, migraine, or tremors
  • Heart and blood vessel diseases, high blood pressure, or dizziness
  • Bronchitis, sinusitis, cough, shortness of breath, snoring, or voice problems
  • Diarrhea or nausea
  • Changes in liver function tests
  • Hair loss or various skin reactions (e.g., itching, redness, or dry skin)
  • Joint pain, limb pain, muscle problems (e.g., cramps, muscle pain, or stiffness), increased blood creatine phosphokinase levels
  • Urinary problems (e.g., reduced urine flow, urinary retention, frequent nighttime urination)
  • Prostate problems (e.g., prostate dysplasia, hardening, or inflammation), changes in sexual desire, testicular pain, breast hardening, tenderness, or growth, increased levels of male and female sex hormones
  • Fatigue, general weakness, excessive sweating, or night sweats
  • Micro-embolism in the lungs from oil solutions, which can rarely cause cough, shortness of breath, general discomfort, excessive sweating, chest pain, dizziness, tingling skin, or fainting during or immediately after injection.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to testosterone undecanoate or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have or are suspected to have prostate or breast cancer.
  • Do not use if you have or have had a liver tumor.
  • This medicine is not for women.
  • Tell your doctor if you have epilepsy, heart, kidney, liver disease, migraines, sleep apnea, or high blood pressure.

  • Tell your doctor if you have blood clotting problems (e.g., hemophilia, thrombophilia, or risk factors for blood clots).
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you experience signs of a blood clot, such as painful swelling in one leg, sudden change in skin color, sudden shortness of breath, unexplained cough with bloody phlegm, sudden chest pain, severe dizziness, strong stomach pain, or sudden loss of vision.
  • This medicine is not for children or teenagers under 18 years old.
  • Do not use this medicine to build muscle or improve athletic performance if you are healthy, as it may cause a positive doping test.
  • Misuse of testosterone can cause serious health problems, including heart, blood vessel, mental health, and liver issues.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category D

Avoid use in older adults. Start and continue therapy under specialist supervision. Consider risk of cardiovascular adverse effects and possibility of mental disorders. (updated 21.10.2024)
