How to Use
Dosage
Your doctor will give you one vial (4 ml) of Testonur at a time.
Method
It is given as a slow injection deep into a muscle, and must not be injected into a blood vessel.
Important
No daily maximum dose, as the medicine is administered every 10-14 weeks by a doctor.
Possible Side Effects
COMMON
- •Unusual increase in red blood cells
- •Weight gain
- •Hot flashes
- •Acne
- •Enlarged prostate and related problems
- •Various injection site reactions (e.g., pain, bruising, or irritation)
RARE
- •Allergic reactions
- •Depression, mood changes, insomnia, restlessness, aggression, or irritability
- •Headache, migraine, or tremors
- •Heart and circulatory disorders, high blood pressure, or dizziness
- •Bronchitis, sinusitis, cough, shortness of breath, snoring, or voice problems
- •Diarrhea or nausea
- •Hair loss or various skin reactions (e.g., itching, redness, or dry skin)
- •Joint pain, limb pain, muscle symptoms (e.g., cramps, muscle pain or stiffness)
- •Urinary tract disorders (e.g., reduced urine flow, inability to empty bladder, frequent nighttime urination)
- •Prolonged, painful erections (priapism)
- •Fluid retention and swelling
- •Micro-embolism in the lungs caused by oil solution, with symptoms like cough, shortness of breath, general discomfort, sweating, chest pain, dizziness, numbness, or fainting.
Important Warnings
- Do not use Testonur if you are allergic to testosterone undecanoate or if you have or have had prostate or breast cancer or a liver tumor.
- This medicine is not for women or children under 18 years of age.
- Talk to your doctor if you have heart, kidney, or liver disease, epilepsy, migraine, sleep apnea, or high blood pressure, as Testonur may worsen these conditions or cause fluid retention.
- Testonur must not be used for muscle building or to enhance athletic performance, and it can result in a positive doping test.
- The injection is only given into a muscle; it is important not to inject it accidentally into a vein.
Use in Elderly Patients
Category D
Avoid use in older adults. Start and continue therapy under specialist supervision. Consider risk of cardiovascular adverse effects and possibility of mental disorders. (updated 21.10.2024)
