How to Use

Dosage

Adults, including seniors, should take 1 tablet once a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. You can take it with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.

Important

Do not take more than 1 tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache
  • Stomach upset (indigestion, nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, feeling bloated)
  • Loss of appetite
  • Itching, rash, or swelling on the skin
  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Feeling depressed
  • Changes in taste or loss of taste
  • Problems with vision
  • Dizziness or feeling tired
RARE
  • Signs of serious liver problems like yellow skin/eyes, dark urine, pale stools, long-lasting nausea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, or unusual tiredness.
  • Severe skin reactions, like rashes, sensitivity to light, blisters, peeling skin, hives, facial rash with fever, feeling unwell, tiredness, or joint/muscle pain (signs of lupus or DRESS).
  • Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) causing breathing difficulty, dizziness, redness, stomach cramps, stiffness, rash (especially on face/throat), fever, or swollen lymph nodes.
  • Unusual bleeding or bruising, pale skin, unusual tiredness, shortness of breath, sore throat with fever and chills, or frequent infections (signs of blood problems like low red blood cells or other blood cell counts).
  • Symptoms like rash, fever, itching, tiredness, or reddish-purple spots under the skin (signs of blood vessel inflammation).
  • Severe upper stomach pain that spreads to your back (a sign of pancreas inflammation).
  • Unexplained muscle weakness or pain, or dark (reddish-brown) urine (signs of muscle breakdown).
  • Hair loss.
  • A skin condition where skin cells grow too fast, leading to thick, white, silvery or red patches on the skin, or worsening of existing psoriasis.
  • Reduced hearing or hearing loss.
  • Changes in your sense of smell, including permanent loss of smell.
  • Flu-like symptoms such as tiredness, chills, sore throat, or joint/muscle pain.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to terbinafine or any other ingredient in it.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have very bad liver problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, psoriasis (a skin condition), or lupus (an immune system disease).
  • Your doctor will check your liver before and during treatment to make sure it's working well.
  • This medicine is not suggested for children because there is not enough information about its use in them.

  • Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant, unless your doctor says it's absolutely necessary.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are breastfeeding, as the medicine can pass into breast milk and might harm your baby.
  • If you feel dizzy, do not drive, ride a bike, or use machines.
  • Don't stop taking this medicine too soon or skip doses without talking to your doctor. The infection could come back.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Contraindicated in case of severe hepatic impairment. Consider potential significant interactions. (updated 11.9.2023)
