How to Use

Dosage

Take as directed by your doctor. Do not change your dose without talking to your doctor.

Method

Take the tablet with a liquid (e.g., a glass of water). You can take it on an empty stomach or with a meal.

Important

Your doctor will determine your maximum daily dose. Do not exceed it.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to atenolol or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have a very slow heart rate.
  • Do not use if you have low blood pressure.
  • Do not use if you have untreated or symptomatic heart failure, with swelling or shortness of breath.
  • Do not use if you have a severe heart block (II or III degree AV block) or sick sinus syndrome.

  • Do not use if you have severe circulation problems in your hands or feet (e.g., intermittent claudication or Raynaud's syndrome).
  • Do not use if you have an untreated pheochromocytoma (a tumor of the adrenal gland).
  • Do not use if you have a severe lung disease like asthma, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema.
  • Tell your doctor or nurse if you are having surgery, as Tenoprin can react with some anesthetics.
  • Be careful when driving or using machines, as this medicine may cause tiredness or dizziness, especially when starting treatment or increasing the dose.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Significant adverse effects include bradycardia and orthostatic hypotension.
