How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will determine the correct dose based on your body size and condition.

Method

Take the capsules whole with a glass of water on an empty stomach, preferably one hour before breakfast. Do not open, crush, or chew the capsules.

Important

Never take more than your doctor prescribes. Taking too much can be dangerous.

  • diabetes insipidus (symptoms: frequent urination and thirst), low blood potassium

  • partial paralysis
  • changes in sense of smell
  • impaired hearing
  • middle ear infection
  • palpitations (feeling your heart beat)
  • hot flashes
  • swollen abdomen
  • difficulty controlling bowel movements

  • liver inflammation and damage (incl. fatal liver failure)
  • bile flow problems (cholestasis)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to temozolomide, other ingredients in this medicine, or if you've had an allergic reaction to the cancer medicine dacarbazine.
  • Your doctor will check your blood counts before treatment, as this medicine can affect your blood cells.
  • You will be monitored for a serious lung infection, and if you are receiving radiation therapy, your doctor may prescribe medication to prevent it.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had Hepatitis B, as this medicine can reactivate the virus.
  • If you experience nausea or vomiting, tell your doctor. Do not take a second dose on the same day if you vomit after taking your dose.

  • Contact your doctor immediately if you develop a fever or signs of infection.
  • Patients over 70 may be more prone to infections, bruising, and bleeding.
  • If you have liver or kidney problems, your doctor may need to adjust your dose.
  • This medicine can make you feel tired or sleepy. Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel tired.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Use reliable contraception during treatment and for a certain period after. Discuss fertility with your doctor.
