How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose for adults and children over 12 years is 0.2–0.4 mg every 6–8 hours.

Method

Place the Temgesic tablet under your tongue and let it dissolve in your mouth. This usually takes 5–10 minutes. Do not chew or swallow the tablet, as this will reduce its effectiveness.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 1.6 mg.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Sedative. Low transdermal efficacy in cachectic patients. Increases the risk of confusion and falling. Need for laxative is often necessary. (updated 24.3.2025)
