How to Use

Dosage

Take one tablet every day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water at the same time each day, with or without food.

Important

If you have liver problems, the highest telmisartan dose you should take is 40 mg a day.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to its ingredients (telmisartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or similar medicines).
  • Do not take this medicine during the last 6 months of pregnancy. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to be, or breastfeeding.
  • Tell your doctor if you have severe liver or kidney problems, or if you have diabetes and are taking a medicine called aliskiren.
  • If you suddenly notice vision changes or eye pain, seek medical help right away.
  • This medicine can increase the risk of skin cancer. Protect your skin from sun and UV rays during treatment.

  • Be careful if you have low blood pressure or are dehydrated (e.g., from diarrhea or vomiting).
  • If you feel dizzy or weak, do not drive or use machinery.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
