How to Use

Dosage

Take one tablet once a day.

Method

Take the tablet with a glass of water, with or without food. Try to take it at the same time each day.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day. If you have liver problems, your dose should not exceed 40 mg/12.5 mg per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Dizziness.
RARE
  • Changes in blood levels (e.g., low potassium, magnesium, sodium, or high calcium), changes in liver/kidney markers, or increased bleeding risk.
  • Headache, anxiety, fainting, dizziness (including a spinning sensation), tingling, depression, or trouble sleeping.
  • Fast or irregular heartbeat, low blood pressure (especially when standing up), or chest pain.
  • Shortness of breath, breathing difficulties, lung inflammation, or scarring in the lungs.
  • Stomach problems like diarrhea, dry mouth, gas, constipation, pain, swelling, feeling sick (nausea), vomiting, or inflammation of the stomach or intestines.
  • Back pain, muscle cramps, muscle pain, joint pain, or pain in arms and legs.
  • Skin problems like redness, itching, rash, hives, increased sweating, skin peeling, or increased sensitivity to sunlight. Worsening of lupus.
  • Sore throat, sinus infection, or flu-like symptoms.
  • Erectile dysfunction, abnormal liver function, blurred vision, eye pain, or worsening vision.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to telmisartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you are more than 3 months pregnant or planning to get pregnant. It can harm your baby.
  • Tell your doctor if you have severe liver or kidney problems.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have diabetes or impaired kidney function and are taking aliskiren (another blood pressure medicine).
  • This medicine may cause dizziness or tiredness. Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel dizzy or tired.

  • Hydrochlorothiazide can increase the risk of skin cancer. Protect your skin from the sun while taking this medicine.
  • If your vision gets worse or your eyes hurt, contact your doctor immediately.
  • If you develop severe shortness of breath after taking this medicine, seek immediate medical attention.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
