How to Use

Dosage

Take one tablet once a day.

Method

Try to take it at the same time each day, with or without food, swallowed with water or another non-alcoholic drink.

Important

Do not exceed one tablet per day. If you have liver problems, your dose should not be higher than 40 mg/12.5 mg per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Low magnesium in blood
RARE
  • Severe infection (blood poisoning), severe swelling of face, tongue or throat, severe skin reactions with blistering and peeling
  • Fast or slow heartbeat, irregular heart rhythm, low blood pressure (especially when standing up), fainting
  • Low or high potassium in blood, low sodium in blood, low or high calcium in blood, problems with salt and fluid balance
  • Stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, dry mouth, upset stomach, inflamed stomach lining
  • Worsened kidney function (including kidney failure), abnormal liver function, yellowing of skin or eyes
  • Shortness of breath, lung inflammation, lung scarring
  • Muscle pain or cramps, back pain, joint pain, tingling, numbness, anxiety, depression, sleep problems, increased sweating, skin rashes, increased sun sensitivity, erectile dysfunction, headache, flu-like symptoms, gout, worsening of Lupus (SLE), certain skin/lip cancers, eye pain, blurred vision

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to telmisartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or any other ingredients.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant, especially after the first 3 months, as it can harm your baby.
  • Do not take if you have severe liver or kidney problems.
  • If you experience blurred vision or eye pain, contact your doctor right away, as it could lead to permanent vision loss.
  • Protect your skin from sun and UV light while taking this medicine, as it may increase the risk of skin cancer.

  • Tell your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, especially other blood pressure medications (like ACE inhibitors or aliskiren), lithium, digoxin, or NSAIDs.
  • Avoid alcohol until you have discussed it with your doctor, as it can lower your blood pressure further.
  • This medicine may cause dizziness or tiredness. Do not drive or use machines if you feel dizzy or tired.
  • This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
