How to Use

Dosage

One tablet once a day; usually 40 mg for high blood pressure or 80 mg for heart and blood vessel protection.

Method

Take the tablet whole with water or another non-alcoholic drink, with or without food, at the same time each day.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 80 mg. If you have liver problems, the dose should not exceed 40 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Low blood pressure.
RARE
  • Infections (urinary, respiratory), changes in blood values (anemia, potassium, sodium).
  • Changes in sleep, mood, or vision (sleep problems, depression, anxiety, dizziness, vision problems).
  • Heart rhythm problems (slow or fast beat), low blood pressure, shortness of breath, cough, lung scarring.
  • Digestive issues (stomach pain, diarrhea, vomiting, bloating, dry mouth, taste changes, liver problems, intestinal swelling).
  • Skin problems (itching, sweating, rashes, hives, eczema, redness).
  • Muscle and joint pain (back, muscles, joints, limbs, tendons).
  • General weakness, chest pain, kidney problems, flu-like symptoms.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Telmark if you are allergic to telmisartan or any other ingredient.
  • Do not use Telmark if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
  • Do not use Telmark if you have severe liver problems or a blockage of the bile ducts.
  • Do not take if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking a medicine that contains aliskiren.
  • Tell your doctor about any kidney, liver, or heart diseases you have, or if you have low blood pressure, high potassium, or diabetes.

  • If you experience severe stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea after taking Telmark, contact your doctor.
  • Seek immediate medical attention if you develop symptoms of sepsis (blood poisoning) or rapid swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat (angioedema).
  • Telmark is not recommended for children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
