How to Use

Dosage

The doctor will decide the right amount for you, usually 300 to 700 MBq for adults, adjusted for children based on their weight.

Method

This medicine is given as a single shot into a vein in your arm; you should stay still during the injection and drink plenty of water afterward to help your body get rid of the medicine.

Important

You will only receive one dose for the diagnostic test.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Allergic reactions (e.g., rash, itching, sudden warmth/hot flashes, nausea/vomiting); contact your doctor immediately if you experience these.

Important Warnings

  • Tell your doctor if you have allergies, especially to similar bone medicines, or if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have kidney problems.
  • Drink plenty of water before the test and urinate often afterward to help remove the medicine from your body.
  • Avoid close contact with babies or pregnant women for at least 4 hours after the injection.
  • If you are breastfeeding, you must stop for 4 hours after the injection and throw away any milk produced during that time.
  • Tell your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, including over-the-counter ones, as they might affect your test results.

  • For children under 18, the doctor will discuss the risk of radiation exposure to growing bones.
