How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is one 10 mg/5 mg tablet every 12 hours.

Method

Swallow the whole tablet with enough water. Do not break, chew, or crush it. You can take it with or without food.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 160 mg of oxycodone hydrochloride and 80 mg of naloxone hydrochloride. Your doctor might give you more oxycodone without naloxone, but the total oxycodone should not exceed 400 mg per day.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to oxycodone, naloxone, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have severe breathing problems or a serious lung disease.
  • Do not take if you have moderate to severe liver problems. Discuss with your doctor if you have kidney or mild liver problems.
  • This medicine can cause sleep-related breathing problems like sleep apnea (pauses in breathing while you sleep). If you notice symptoms like pauses in breathing during sleep, waking up due to shortness of breath, or feeling very sleepy during the day, tell your doctor.
  • Swallow tablets whole. Do not break, chew, or crush them, as this can lead to a dangerous overdose.

  • This medicine contains oxycodone, which is an opioid. It can lead to dependence and addiction, especially with long-term use or high doses.
  • Do not drink alcohol or grapefruit juice while taking this medicine, as it can increase side effects like drowsiness and breathing problems.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Sedative. Reduce the dose already in mild renal impairment. Increases the risk of confusion and falling. Need for laxative is often necessary. Consider potential interactions. Avoid grapefruit. (updated 24.3.2025)
