How to Use

Dosage

For pain, the usual starting dose is one 10 mg/5 mg tablet every 12 hours. For restless legs syndrome, the usual starting dose is one 5 mg/2.5 mg tablet every 12 hours.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with about half a glass of water. Do not break, chew, or crush them. Take them every 12 hours, at the same times each day, with or without food.

Important

For pain, the maximum daily dose of Targiniq is 160 mg oxycodone hydrochloride and 80 mg naloxone hydrochloride. For restless legs syndrome, the maximum daily dose is 60 mg oxycodone hydrochloride and 30 mg naloxone hydrochloride.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to oxycodone, naloxone, or other ingredients in this medicine.
  • This medicine is an opioid and can cause addiction; use exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Do not crush, chew, or break the tablets as this can release a dangerous amount of medicine at once.
  • Combining this medicine with alcohol or sedatives can make you very sleepy, cause severe breathing problems, or lead to coma.
  • Do not use during pregnancy or if you are breastfeeding.
