Tapin is a medicated patch containing lidocaine and prilocaine that temporarily numbs the skin surface before minor procedures like needle sticks or small skin surgeries.
For adults and adolescents over 12 years, usually 1 or more patches; for children, the dose depends on age, and your doctor or nurse will give specific instructions.
Clean and dry the skin, apply the patch to the treatment area as instructed by your doctor, and remove it before the procedure.
For children over 3 months, a maximum of 2 doses within 24 hours, with at least 12 hours between doses. For children under 3 months, only one dose within 24 hours. For adults and adolescents over 12 years, the patch should be on the skin for a maximum of 5 hours.
