How to Use

Dosage

For adults and adolescents over 12 years, usually 1 or more patches; for children, the dose depends on age, and your doctor or nurse will give specific instructions.

Method

Clean and dry the skin, apply the patch to the treatment area as instructed by your doctor, and remove it before the procedure.

Important

For children over 3 months, a maximum of 2 doses within 24 hours, with at least 12 hours between doses. For children under 3 months, only one dose within 24 hours. For adults and adolescents over 12 years, the patch should be on the skin for a maximum of 5 hours.

  • Skin swelling
RARE
  • Mild burning sensation
  • Itching
  • Warmth
  • Allergic reactions (e.g., rash, swelling, fever, difficulty breathing, fainting)
  • Methemoglobinemia (a blood disorder that can cause bluish-gray skin)
  • Small pinpoint bleeding in the treated area (especially in children after long application)
  • Eye irritation if the patch accidentally gets into eyes

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to lidocaine, prilocaine, or similar local anesthetics.
  • Do not use if you or your child has a rare hereditary blood disorder (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency or methemoglobinemia).
  • Do not apply the patch to broken skin, such as cuts, scrapes, open wounds, or rashes.
  • Avoid contact with eyes. If it gets into your eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
  • Do not use on children under 12 months who are taking other medications that affect blood pigment levels (e.g., sulfonamides).
