How to Use

Dosage

One capsule (0.4 mg) once a day, after breakfast or the first meal.

Method

Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water while sitting or standing. Do not break or chew the capsule.

Important

Do not take more than one capsule per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Dizziness, especially when sitting up or standing.
  • Ejaculation problems, including retrograde ejaculation (sperm goes into the bladder instead of out) and failure to ejaculate.
RARE
  • Headache.
  • Fast or irregular heartbeat (palpitations).
  • Low blood pressure.
  • Runny or blocked nose (rhinitis).
  • Constipation.
  • Diarrhea.
  • Nausea.
  • Vomiting.
  • Rash.
  • Itching.
  • Red, itchy, or lumpy rash (hives).
  • Weakness (asthenia).
  • Fainting.
  • Swelling of hands or feet, and soft tissues (e.g., throat or tongue), breathing difficulties, and/or itching and rash (angioedema).
  • Prolonged, painful, and unwanted erection (priapism).
  • Stevens-Johnson syndrome (a severe, inflammatory allergic reaction affecting skin and mucous membranes).
  • Nosebleeds.
  • Blurred vision, impaired vision.
  • Dry mouth.
  • Severe skin reactions (erythema multiforme, exfoliative dermatitis).
  • Very fast or irregular heartbeat, heart rhythm problems, fast pulse, and breathing difficulties.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Tamsumin if you are allergic to tamsulosin or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have experienced low blood pressure when changing position (e.g., feeling dizzy when standing up quickly).
  • Do not use if you have severe liver problems.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have severe kidney problems.
  • This medicine may cause dizziness, which can affect your ability to drive or use machines. Be careful if you feel dizzy.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Significant adverse effects include orthostatic hypotension and dizziness. Increases risk of falls. Consider potential interactions especially with antihypertensives. (updated 25.11.2024)
