How to Use

Dosage

One capsule daily.

Method

Take one capsule whole with a glass of water, while standing or sitting upright, after your first meal of the day. Do not chew the capsule.

Important

The maximum daily dose is one capsule.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Dizziness (especially when sitting or standing up quickly)
  • Ejaculation problems (e.g., less or no semen)
  • Headache
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Rhinitis (blocked or runny nose)
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Skin rash, itching, hives
  • Feeling weak
RARE
  • Fainting
  • Severe allergic reaction with swelling of hands, feet, lips, tongue, or throat, causing breathing difficulties, itching, or rash (angioedema)
  • Severe skin or mucous membrane lesions and changes (Stevens-Johnson syndrome)
  • Painful, prolonged, unwanted erection (priapism)
  • Blurred or decreased vision
  • Nosebleeds
  • Severe skin inflammation and blistering (erythema multiforme), peeling rash
  • Rapid or irregular heartbeat (sometimes life-threatening)
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Dry mouth
  • During eye surgery (for cataract or glaucoma), the pupil may dilate poorly, and the iris may become floppy.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to tamsulosin hydrochloride or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Stop taking and contact a doctor immediately if you experience sudden swelling of your hands, feet, lips, tongue, or throat, which causes breathing difficulties, itching, or rash (angioedema).
  • Do not use if you have experienced dizziness or fainting due to low blood pressure, for example, when getting up quickly from lying down or sitting.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver problems.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have severe kidney problems.

  • Inform your doctor if you are going to have eye surgery (for cataracts or glaucoma).
  • Stop taking and contact a doctor immediately if you develop severe skin or mucous membrane lesions or blistering (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome or erythema multiforme).
