How to Use

Dosage

One capsule once daily.

Method

Swallow the capsule whole, preferably after breakfast or the first meal of the day. Do not crush or chew it.

Important

The maximum recommended dose is one capsule per day. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten one.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Dizziness
  • Ejaculation problems, such as no ejaculation or semen going into the bladder.
  • Headache
  • Palpitations (feeling your heart beat fast or unevenly)
  • Dizziness when standing up quickly from lying down or sitting
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Rash and itching
  • Feeling of weakness
RARE
  • Fainting
  • Severe allergic reaction with sudden swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty breathing, and rash.
  • Serious skin reactions, such as widespread blistering rash and skin peeling, especially on the lips, eyes, mouth, nose, or genitals (Stevens-Johnson syndrome).
  • Painful, prolonged erection (priapism)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to tamsulosin or any other ingredient. Symptoms can include sudden swelling (face, hands, feet), difficulty breathing, or rash.
  • If you feel dizzy or faint, especially when standing up from lying down or sitting, sit or lie down until the symptoms pass.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver disease.
  • If you are planning to have cataract or glaucoma eye surgery, tell your doctor that you are taking, have taken, or might take tamsulosin.
  • This medicine should not be given to children or adolescents under 18 years of age.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Significant adverse effects include orthostatic hypotension and dizziness. Increases risk of falls. Consider potential interactions especially with antihypertensives. (updated 25.11.2024)
