How to Use

Dosage

One capsule daily.

Method

Take the capsule with a glass of water after your first meal of the day, while standing or sitting. Swallow it whole; do not chew or crush it.

Important

Maximum one capsule per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Dizziness.
  • Ejaculation problems, including inability to ejaculate or ejaculation into the bladder.
  • Headache.
  • Palpitations (fast or irregular heartbeat).
  • Dizziness, especially when standing up from lying or sitting.
  • Runny nose.
  • Digestive issues, such as constipation, diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting.
  • Rash or itching.
  • Feeling weak.
RARE
  • Fainting.
  • Swelling of hands or feet, breathing difficulties, itching, or rash (angioedema).
  • Painful, prolonged, unwanted erection (priapism).
  • Severe skin redness (Stevens-Johnson syndrome).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Tamsact if you are allergic to tamsulosin or any other ingredient in this medicine. Signs can be sudden swelling of hands, feet, lips, tongue or throat, breathing problems, itching, or rash.
  • Do not use if you feel dizzy when standing up from lying down or sitting, due to low blood pressure.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver problems.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have severe kidney problems.
  • Inform your eye doctor if you are going for eye surgery (for cataracts or glaucoma) and are taking or have taken Tamsact.

  • You should have your prostate checked by a doctor before starting Tamsact and regularly during treatment.
  • Do not give this medicine to children or adolescents under 18 years of age.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Significant adverse effects include orthostatic hypotension and dizziness. Increases risk of falls. Consider potential interactions especially with antihypertensives. (updated 25.11.2024)
