How to Use

Dosage

Use 1 drop in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening.

Method

Wash your hands. Open a single-dose container by twisting off the top. Tilt your head back, pull down your lower eyelid, and drop one drop between the eyelid and the eye. Close your eye for about one minute and gently press the inner corner of your eye with your finger to stop the drop from draining. Wipe away any extra liquid from around your eye. Use only as eye drops; do not swallow.

Important

Do not use more drops or use them more often than your doctor tells you. Using too much can make the medicine work less well.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to tafluprost or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Taflotan can make your eyelashes longer, thicker, darker, and more numerous, and can cause unusual hair growth on your eyelids.
  • Taflotan may darken the skin around your eyes. Wipe off any extra liquid from your skin to reduce this risk.
  • Taflotan can change your eye color (the colored part, the iris). If you only use Taflotan in one eye, that eye's color may permanently be different from the other eye's.
  • Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, liver problems, asthma, or other eye conditions.

  • If you might become pregnant, use effective birth control during Taflotan treatment. Do not use Taflotan if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Your vision might become blurry for a short time after you put in the eye drops. Do not drive or use machines until your vision is clear again.
  • If you use other eye medicines, wait at least 5 minutes after putting in Taflotan eye drops before using the other medicine.
  • Do not stop using Taflotan without asking your doctor. If you stop, the pressure in your eye will increase again and could cause permanent damage to your eye.
  • If you have severe damage to the clear outer layer of your eye (cornea), the phosphates in this medicine can rarely cause cloudy patches on the cornea due to calcium build-up during treatment.
