How to Use

Dosage

Usually, men take one 5 mg tablet once a day, or 10 mg as needed before sexual activity. Your doctor will tell you the exact dose for your condition.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food.

Important

Do not take more than one dose per day, as prescribed by your doctor.

Important Warnings

  • Stop taking this medicine and call your doctor right away if you get an allergic reaction, like a rash.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are using other medicines called nitrates for chest pain, as it can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.
  • Tell your doctor if you have severe heart problems, or if you've recently had a heart attack or stroke.
  • Tell your doctor if you have very low blood pressure or high blood pressure that is not controlled.
  • Stop taking this medicine and call your doctor right away if you experience sudden loss of vision or hearing.

  • Seek medical help immediately if you have an erection that lasts for more than 4 hours.
  • Tell your doctor about all your medical conditions, especially if you have sickle cell anemia, a type of blood cancer (multiple myeloma or leukemia), a deformed penis, severe liver or kidney disease, or certain inherited eye diseases.
  • Avoid large amounts of alcohol and grapefruit juice while using this medicine, as they can increase side effects.
  • This medicine is not for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose already in mild renal impairment. Reduce the dose in liver impairment. Significant adverse reactions include hypotension, ortostatic hypotension, headache and visual disturbances. Consider the numerous potential interactions,especially with nitrates. Avoid grapefruit.
