Tadalafil ratiopharm contains tadalafil and is used to treat erectile dysfunction and urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate in adult men.

How to Use

Dosage

One 5 mg tablet once a day at about the same time each day. Your doctor may lower the dose to 2.5 mg depending on how you react.

Method

Take the tablets by mouth with water. You can take them with or without food.

Important

Do not take more than once a day.

  • Sudden vision loss or blurred, distorted, or dimmed central vision (stop medicine and see doctor immediately)
  • Dizziness
  • Abdominal pain
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Heartburn/reflux
  • Blurred vision
  • Eye pain
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Blood in urine
  • Palpitations, fast heartbeat, high blood pressure, low blood pressure
  • Nosebleed and ringing in ears (tinnitus)
  • Swelling of hands, feet, ankles and tiredness
  • Fainting
  • Seizures
  • Temporary memory loss
  • Swollen eyelids, red eyes, sudden hearing loss or loss, hives
  • Penile bleeding
  • Blood in semen
  • Increased sweating
  • Migraine
  • Facial swelling (severe allergic reactions)
  • Severe skin rashes
  • Certain eye blood flow disorders
  • Irregular heartbeats
  • Sudden cardiac death

Important Warnings

  • If you are allergic to tadalafil or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • If you are taking nitrates or nitric oxide donors (like amyl nitrite) used to treat chest pain.
  • If you have a severe heart condition or have had a heart attack recently (in the last 90 days).
  • If you have had a stroke recently (in the last six months).
  • If your blood pressure is very low or uncontrollably high.

  • If you have ever lost your vision due to nerve damage (called 'stroke in the eye').
  • If you are taking riociguat, which is used to treat high blood pressure in the lungs.
  • If you experience sudden vision or hearing loss, stop using the medicine and contact your doctor immediately.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, leukemia, a deformed penis, severe liver disease, or severe kidney disease.
  • Drinking too much alcohol with Tadalafil ratiopharm can cause dizziness and a drop in blood pressure.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose already in mild renal impairment. Reduce the dose in liver impairment. Significant adverse reactions include hypotension, ortostatic hypotension, headache and visual disturbances. Consider the numerous potential interactions,especially with nitrates. Avoid grapefruit.
