How to Use

Dosage

Take one 5 mg tablet once a day at about the same time each day. Your doctor might adjust the dose to 2.5 mg if needed.

Method

Take this medicine by mouth, swallowing the tablet whole with water. You can take it with or without food.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day.

  • Bleeding from the penis

  • Partial, temporary, or permanent loss of vision in one or both eyes
  • Migraine
  • Facial swelling
  • Severe allergic reactions causing swelling of the face and throat

  • Disturbed blood flow to the eyes

  • Chest pain (angina)
  • Sudden cardiac death
  • Priapism (prolonged and possibly painful erection lasting over 4 hours)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to tadalafil or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take if you are using nitrate medicines for chest pain, as this can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.
  • Tell your doctor if you have serious heart problems, recently had a heart attack (within 90 days), or a stroke (within 6 months).
  • Do not take if you have very low or uncontrolled high blood pressure.
  • Stop taking this medicine and see a doctor immediately if you experience sudden vision loss, distorted vision, or blurred vision.

  • Stop taking this medicine and see a doctor immediately if you experience sudden hearing loss.
  • Tell your doctor if you have sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, leukemia, penis deformity, or severe liver or kidney problems.
  • This medicine is only for men and should not be used by women.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose already in mild renal impairment. Reduce the dose in liver impairment. Significant adverse reactions include hypotension, ortostatic hypotension, headache and visual disturbances. Consider the numerous potential interactions,especially with nitrates. Avoid grapefruit.
