How to Use

Dosage

Start by applying Tacrolimus Accord 0.1% ointment twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening, until the eczema improves.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Burning sensation and itching.
  • Redness.
  • Sensation of warmth.
  • Pain.
  • Increased skin sensitivity (especially to heat and cold).
  • Tingling sensation in the skin.
  • Rash.
  • Local skin inflammations (e.g., hair follicle inflammation, cold sores, herpes).
  • Facial redness or skin irritation after alcohol consumption.
RARE
  • Acne.
  • Rosacea (facial redness).
  • Rosacea-like rash.
  • Lentigo (brown spots on the skin).
  • Swelling of the treated skin area.
  • Herpes-related eye infections.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to tacrolimus, any other ingredient in the ointment, or macrolide antibiotics.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have liver failure.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have skin cancer or a weakened immune system.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have hereditary skin conditions like Netherton's syndrome, lamellar ichthyosis, pyoderma gangraenosum, or generalized erythroderma.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have a skin graft rejection reaction.

  • Talk to your doctor if you have swollen lymph nodes before starting or during treatment.
  • Do not apply the ointment to infected skin lesions.
  • Tell your doctor if you notice any changes in your skin's appearance.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and sunbeds. Use sunscreen and protective clothing when outdoors.
  • Inform your doctor if you are prescribed light therapy, as this ointment is not recommended for concomitant use.
  • Avoid bathing, showering, or swimming immediately after applying the ointment to prevent the medication from washing off.
  • The ointment is not approved for use in children under 16 years of age.
  • Moisturizers or facial toners can be used, but not within two hours before or after applying Tacrolimus Accord ointment.
  • Alcohol consumption may cause flushing and redness of the skin or face.
  • Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to have children.
