How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor or nurse will decide the right dose based on your weight and what is needed for your surgery.

Method

It is given as an injection or a drip directly into a vein.

Important

The maximum total dose you can receive in a day is 500 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Stomach cramps or pain, feeling sick or full
  • Visible muscle twitches under the skin
  • Muscle pain after surgery
  • Increased pressure in the eyes, which can cause headache or blurred vision
  • Skin redness
  • Rash
  • High potassium levels in the blood
  • Fast or slow heart rate
  • Protein in blood or urine due to muscle damage
  • Muscle damage, causing soreness, stiffness, weakness, and dark urine
RARE
  • Sudden, severe allergic reaction with breathing difficulties, swelling (face, lips, tongue), dizziness, fast heartbeat, sweating, or fainting (anaphylactic shock)
  • Abnormal heart rhythm
  • Heart problems, changes in heartbeat, or heart stopping
  • Difficulty breathing or temporary stop in breathing
  • Difficulty opening your mouth
  • Fever
  • Too much saliva
  • High or low blood pressure

Important Warnings

  • You are allergic to this medicine or any of its ingredients.
  • Your doctor has told you that you have very low activity of a certain enzyme (cholinesterase).
  • You or your family have had unusually high body temperature (hyperthermia) during surgery.
  • You have very high potassium levels in your blood.
  • You or your family have certain muscle diseases, like myotonia or Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

  • You have a recent eye injury or high pressure in your eyes (glaucoma).
  • You have a severe infection, blood poisoning (sepsis), or severe burns.
