How to Use

Method

Take capsules and tablets with a glass of water.

Important

Do not take more than the dose prescribed by your doctor.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Fatigue

  • Milk discharge from breasts
  • Breast tenderness
  • Parkinson-like symptoms (e.g., tremors)
  • Physical restlessness
  • Constipation
  • Weight gain
  • Rash
  • Uncontrolled muscle movements (extrapyramidal symptoms)
RARE
  • Muscle stiffness
  • Unusual salivation
  • Involuntary movements or rigidity (neurological symptoms)
  • Low blood pressure when standing up
  • Breast enlargement
  • Sexual problems
  • Menstrual changes
  • Increased liver enzyme levels
  • Low white blood cell count (leukopenia)
  • Eye spasms
  • Severe irregular heartbeat
  • Blood clots (especially in legs, potentially leading to lung problems with chest pain and breathing difficulty)
  • Pneumonia from inhaling substances
  • Liver failure
  • Severe neuroleptic malignant syndrome (fever, stiff muscles, sweating)
  • Low sodium in blood
  • Abnormal hormone secretion (causes increased urination)
  • Severe allergic reactions (hives, shortness of breath, low blood pressure)
  • Seizures
  • Heart problems (abnormal ECG, cardiac arrest, sudden death)
  • Stiff neck (torticollis)
  • Lockjaw (trismus)
  • Reduced movement
  • Confusion
  • Muscle damage leading to kidney issues (rhabdomyolysis)
  • Fever

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Suprium if you are allergic to sulpiride or any other ingredients, have a tumor in your adrenal gland (pheochromocytoma) or a prolactin-dependent tumor, or if you are taking levodopa.
  • Use with caution if you have glaucoma, bowel obstruction, prostate enlargement, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, kidney problems, heart disease, or a family history of 'long QT syndrome'.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if you develop fever of unknown cause or an infection during treatment.
  • Tell your doctor if you or anyone in your family has had blood clots or breast cancer.
  • If you experience high fever, stiff muscles, sweating, or fast breathing, stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor right away. This could be a serious condition called neuroleptic malignant syndrome.

  • This medicine can make you tired and affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. Be careful until you know how it affects you.
  • Avoid alcohol as it can increase the sedative effects. Tell your doctor about all other medicines you are taking as they can interact with Suprium.
  • Use with caution in elderly patients. Diabetics should regularly monitor blood sugar levels.
