How to Use

Dosage

For GIST or kidney cancer, usually 50 mg once daily for 28 days, followed by a 14-day break. For pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, usually 37.5 mg once daily without a break.

Method

You can take this medicine with or without food.

Important

The maximum daily dose is usually 50 mg, or 37.5 mg for certain cancers, as prescribed by your doctor.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Feeling very tired and weak
  • Mouth sores, upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
  • High blood pressure
  • Swelling due to fluid under the skin, especially around the eyes
  • Yellowish or discolored skin, rash on palms and soles
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Infections
RARE
  • Stroke or heart attack
  • Severe skin reactions, including painful ulcers or widespread rash
  • Severe liver problems
  • Jaw bone damage, causing pain, swelling, or loose teeth
  • Abnormal brain changes, leading to headache, confusion, seizures, or vision loss

Important Warnings

  • This medicine can raise your blood pressure. Your doctor will check it regularly.
  • This medicine can cause heart problems. Tell your doctor if you feel very tired, short of breath, or have swollen feet and ankles.
  • This medicine can increase your risk of bleeding or bruising. Tell your doctor if you notice any unusual bleeding.
  • This medicine can affect wound healing. If you are having surgery, your treatment will usually be stopped beforehand.
  • Contact your doctor and dentist right away if you have mouth pain, tooth pain, jaw pain, swelling, sores in your mouth, numbness, or loose teeth.
