How to Use

Dosage

Typically 50 mg once daily for 28 days, followed by a 14-day break. For some cancers, the dose may be 37.5 mg daily without a break.

Method

You can take this medicine with or without food.

Important

Your doctor will determine your maximum daily dose based on your type of cancer, typically up to 50 mg per day during specified cycles.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Lower counts of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.
  • Extreme tiredness or weakness.
  • Swelling due to fluid buildup, especially around the eyes.
  • Mouth pain, sores, dryness, or changes in taste.
  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, or stomach pain.
  • Loss of appetite.
  • Skin turning yellow or discolored, skin darkening, hair color changes, dry skin, or rashes.
  • Headache or dizziness.
  • Nosebleeds.
  • Muscle, back, or joint pain.
RARE
  • Stroke or heart attack.
  • Inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis).
  • Damage to the jawbone.
  • Severe allergic reactions (e.g., rash, swelling, trouble breathing).
  • Acute kidney failure.
  • Liver inflammation (hepatitis).

Important Warnings

  • This medicine can increase your blood pressure. Your doctor will check it regularly.
  • It can increase your risk of bleeding or bruising. Tell your doctor if you notice any unusual bleeding.
  • This medicine can cause heart problems. Tell your doctor if you feel very tired, short of breath, or have swollen feet.
  • Be aware of symptoms of blood clots (like stroke or heart attack).
  • It can affect your thyroid gland. Your doctor will check your thyroid function.
