Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Cough
  • Breathing difficulties (e.g., coughing or moving as if waking up or gasping for air)
  • Light anesthesia, meaning you might start to wake up and need more anesthetic, possibly causing movement or coughing at the end of surgery.
  • Complications during the procedure, like changes in heart rate, coughing, or moving.
  • Drop in blood pressure due to the surgery.
RARE
  • Shortness of breath from muscle spasms in the airways (bronchospasm), seen in patients with a history of lung problems.
  • Allergic reactions (drug hypersensitivity) like rash, skin redness, swelling of the tongue and/or throat, shortness of breath, changes in blood pressure or heart rate, which can sometimes lead to a severe drop in blood pressure. Severe allergic reactions can be life-threatening.
  • Allergic reactions were reported more often in healthy, conscious volunteers after muscle relaxant reversal following surgery.
  • Severe slowing of the heart rate, potentially leading to cardiac arrest, can occur when Sugammadex Stada is given.
