How to Use
Dosage
The usual dose is 2 to 4 mg per kg of body weight for adults and children aged 2-17 years.
Method
Your anaesthesiologist will give Sugammadex Bioglan as a single injection into your vein.
Important
A dose of 16 mg per kg of body weight may be used for adults if a very fast muscle recovery is needed.
Possible Side Effects
COMMON
- •Cough
- •Breathing difficulties, which may include coughing or movements as if waking up or gasping for air.
- •Light anesthesia, meaning you might start waking up from deep sleep and need more anesthetic. You might move or cough at the end of surgery.
- •Complications during your procedure, like changes in heart rate, coughing, or movements.
- •Low blood pressure due to the surgery.
RARE
- •Shortness of breath caused by muscle spasms in the airways (bronchospasm), especially in patients with a history of lung problems.
- •Allergic reactions, such as rash, red skin, swelling of the tongue and/or throat, shortness of breath, changes in blood pressure or heart rate, which can sometimes lead to a severe drop in blood pressure. Severe allergic reactions can be life-threatening.
- •Return of muscle relaxation after surgery.
- •Severe slowing of the heart rate and heart beat, potentially leading to cardiac arrest, may occur when Sugammadex Bioglan is given.
Important Warnings
- Do not take if you are allergic to sugammadex or any other ingredients in this medicine.
- Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, as this medicine is removed from your body by your kidneys.
- Tell your doctor if you have or have had liver disease.
- Tell your doctor if you have fluid retention (swelling).
- Inform your doctor if you have conditions that increase bleeding risk or if you take blood thinners.

- This medicine is not recommended for children under 2 years old.
- Sugammadex Bioglan can make hormonal birth control (like pills, rings, implants, or coils) less effective. Use extra protection for 7 days after taking it.
