  • Do not use intravenously during childbirth or if you are having a C-section and the umbilical cord has not yet been clamped.
  • Do not use epidurally if you have severe bleeding or shock, a severe infection, a wound that heals poorly, inflammation at the injection site, changes in blood cell count, or are taking blood thinners.
  • Tell your doctor if you have unusually slow bowel function, gallbladder or pancreas disease, or if you or a family member has ever misused or been dependent on alcohol, prescription medicines, or illegal drugs.
  • Tell your doctor if you smoke or have had mood disorders (like depression or anxiety) or other mental health problems.
  • Repeated use of opioid pain medicines can make them less effective, and can lead to dependence, abuse, and life-threatening overdose. Talk to your doctor if you are concerned about becoming dependent.
  • Sufentanil hameln should only be given by specialists in hospitals with equipment for artificial ventilation and post-surgery monitoring.
  • This medicine can slow down your breathing, which may last until you wake up or reappear later. Close monitoring after surgery is essential.
  • Sufentanil hameln can cause sleep-related breathing problems like sleep apnea (pauses in breathing during sleep) or low oxygen levels in the blood. If you notice these symptoms, contact your doctor.
  • Use with extreme caution if you have lung, liver, kidney, or thyroid disease, or alcoholism.
  • Use with caution if you have increased pressure in your skull or brain/head injuries.
  • If you have low blood volume (hypovolemia), Sufentanil hameln can cause a drop in blood pressure and slow heart rate.
  • Involuntary muscle twitching may occur.
  • Talk to your doctor if you feel pain or increased sensitivity to pain (hyperalgesia) that doesn't go away even with higher doses.
  • Intravenous use is not recommended for newborns due to risk of breathing problems. Epidural use is not recommended for children under 1 year old.
  • Using Sufentanil hameln with sedatives or similar medicines (like benzodiazepines) increases the risk of drowsiness, breathing difficulties, and coma, which can be life-threatening. If your doctor prescribes these together, the dose and duration will be limited.
  • Tell your doctor if you take medicines for epilepsy, nerve pain, or anxiety (like gabapentin and pregabalin), as they can increase the risk of opioid overdose and life-threatening breathing problems.
  • Using Sufentanil hameln with certain antidepressants (SSRIs or SNRIs) is not recommended.
  • If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, ask your doctor for advice. Do not use intravenously during childbirth as it can affect the baby's breathing. It passes into breast milk, so breastfeeding should be stopped for 24 hours after your last dose.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery for 24 hours after receiving Sufentanil hameln.
