How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your specific dose, usually starting low and increasing gradually; for most adults, the maintenance dose is typically 100-200 micrograms daily.

Method

Take your daily dose once a day in the morning on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before breakfast, with a small amount of water. For infants, crush the tablet and mix with a small amount of water just before giving it.

Important

The maximum daily dose is typically 200 micrograms for most conditions, but can be up to 300 micrograms for certain severe conditions like thyroid cancer.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Striroxin if you are allergic to levothyroxine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take Striroxin if you have an untreated adrenal gland problem, pituitary gland problem, uncontrolled overactive thyroid, or acute heart disease (like a heart attack or heart inflammation).
  • Tell your doctor if you have heart problems like chest pain, heart failure, irregular heartbeat, or high blood pressure, as these need to be controlled before starting Striroxin.
  • Striroxin is not for weight loss. Do not increase your dose without your doctor's specific advice, as it can cause serious and life-threatening side effects.
  • If you are pregnant, consult your doctor about continuing Striroxin; doses may need adjustment. Do not use Striroxin with anti-thyroid drugs if you are pregnant.
