How to Use

Dosage

The typical maintenance dose for adults is 100-200 micrograms once daily, adjusted by your doctor.

Method

Take one dose by mouth in the morning on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before breakfast, with a small amount of liquid, like half a glass of water.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 300 micrograms, but your doctor will tell you your exact dose.

Possible Side Effects

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to levothyroxine or any other ingredient in Striroxin.
  • Do not take if you have untreated adrenal or pituitary gland problems, or a very overactive thyroid (thyrotoxicosis).
  • Do not take if you have acute heart problems like a heart attack or heart inflammation.
  • If you are pregnant, do not use Striroxin with medicines that stop the thyroid from working.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have heart issues like chest pain (angina), heart failure, fast or irregular heartbeat, or high blood pressure; these must be managed before taking Striroxin.

  • Do not use this medicine for weight loss; taking too much can be dangerous.
  • Tell your doctor if you take biotin, as it can affect thyroid hormone test results.
  • Soy products can reduce how much Striroxin your body absorbs, so tell your doctor if you eat a lot of soy.
  • Allergic reactions (like rash, hives, or swelling of the face/throat) are possible; seek immediate medical help if this happens.
