How to Use

Dosage

For adults, the usual daily dose for hormone replacement is 100-200 micrograms, but your doctor will determine your exact dose based on your condition.

Method

Take the tablet whole with a small amount of water on an empty stomach in the morning, at least 30 minutes before breakfast. For infants, crush the tablet just before use, mix with a small amount of water, and give it at least 30 minutes before their first meal.

Important

Do not exceed 300 micrograms per day, unless specifically instructed by your doctor for certain conditions like thyroid cancer.

RARE
  • Allergic reactions (rash, hives, swelling of the face or throat)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Striroxin if you are allergic to levothyroxine or any other ingredients in the medicine.
  • Do not take Striroxin if you have untreated problems with your adrenal or pituitary glands, an overactive thyroid gland (thyrotoxicosis), or an acute heart condition like a heart attack or inflamed heart.
  • Do not use Striroxin for weight loss. Taking too high a dose without a doctor's advice can cause serious, even life-threatening, side effects.
  • Tell your doctor if you have any heart problems (like chest pain, heart failure, or irregular heartbeat) or high blood pressure, as these need to be controlled before starting Striroxin.
  • Inform your doctor about all other medicines, vitamins, supplements (including biotin), or soy products you are using, as they can affect Striroxin or thyroid test results.

  • Some Striroxin tablets (25, 100, and 125 micrograms) contain a colorant (E110, para-orange) that may cause allergic reactions.
