Striroxin contains levothyroxine, a man-made thyroid hormone used to treat thyroid diseases and disorders, working like the body's own hormones.
Adults typically take 100-200 micrograms daily; children's dosage is based on body surface area, starting from 12.5-50 micrograms.
Take your daily dose by mouth in the morning on an empty stomach (at least 30 minutes before breakfast) with a small amount of liquid, such as half a glass of water. For infants, crush the tablet just before use, mix with a little water, and give it at least 30 minutes before the first meal.
The maximum daily dose for adults is typically 200 micrograms, but your doctor may prescribe up to 300 micrograms for certain conditions.
Suitable for older adults. Calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium and aluminium reduce absorption. (updated 6.11.2023)
