How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you the exact amount, but usually a small amount for the affected area.

Method

Wash your hands before and after use. Apply a thin layer of cream gently to the infected skin area 2-3 times a day. If the area is covered with a dressing, you may apply it less often.

Important

Use no more than 2-3 times a day, unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Treatment usually lasts no more than two weeks.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Rash or itching
  • Redness of the skin
  • Itchy, red rash with warmth and swelling where the cream was applied (contact dermatitis or eczema)
  • Pain, irritation (stinging), or burning sensation on the treated skin area
RARE
  • Your eyes may itch strongly and have watery discharge.
  • Swelling of the face, lips, mouth, throat, or tongue, which may cause difficulty swallowing or breathing.
  • Hives or blisters.
  • Difficulty breathing (sign of a severe allergic reaction).
  • Tingling or swelling of your lips and mouth (sign of a severe allergic reaction).
  • Swelling of your face or throat (sign of a severe allergic reaction).
  • Severe skin rash (sign of a severe allergic reaction).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to fusidic acid or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Avoid getting the cream in your eyes, especially when applying to the face, as it can cause irritation. If it gets in your eyes, rinse immediately with cold water.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
  • Some ingredients (cetyl alcohol, butylhydroxyanisole, potassium sorbate, polysorbates) can cause local skin reactions or irritation.
  • Continue using the medicine for the full duration recommended by your doctor, even if your symptoms improve sooner.
