How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you the right dose. For adults, it's usually 25-100 mg daily, but can be up to 400 mg for short periods or specific conditions. For children, the doctor decides based on weight and illness.

Method

Take the tablet with a glass of water or other drink, with food. You can take your daily dose once a day or split it into two doses. Try to take it at the same time each day to help it work best and to remember it.

Important

The maximum daily dose for severe swelling or specific conditions is typically 400 mg for a short period.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to spironolactone or any other ingredient.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe kidney problems or if your body stops making urine.
  • Do not take if you have very high potassium or very low sodium levels in your blood.
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, diabetes with kidney issues, or stomach ulcers.
  • Avoid foods and supplements high in potassium, as this can lead to dangerously high potassium levels in your blood.

Category C
