How to Use

Dosage

The allergen extract is applied as a drop on the skin surface during a skin prick test.

Method

The test is performed on the inner forearm or back. The skin is gently pricked through the drop with a lancet.

Important

The test is typically performed once per session, with reactions read after 15 minutes.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Growth of the wheal (raised skin) at the test site for 10-20 minutes.
  • Local swelling and redness in the test area for 6-24 hours.
RARE
  • Severe allergic reaction (anafylactic shock).
  • Redness and intense itching in palms, soles, or other body areas (like hives).
  • Breathing difficulties.
  • Feeling of warmth, general discomfort, restlessness, or anxiety.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are taking beta-blocker medicines.
  • Do not use if you have acute or chronic eczema in the test area.
  • Severe allergic reactions, like anaphylactic shock, are rare but possible. Healthcare professionals must be prepared to treat them.
