How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose, which is usually between 10 mg and 500 mg, given daily or as needed for a few days.

Method

This medicine is given as an injection or infusion into a vein (intravenously) or as an injection into a muscle (intramuscularly) by a doctor or nurse.

Important

The maximum daily dose depends on your condition, with some severe cases requiring up to 1000 mg per day for a few days.

  • Increased risk of infections

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to methylprednisolone or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have a fungal infection.
  • Do not use if you have recently received or are about to receive a live or live attenuated vaccine.
  • This medicine can weaken your immune system, making you more prone to infections. Your doctor will monitor you carefully.
  • Long-term daily use in children can slow down growth. It should only be used for severe illnesses in children.

  • Solu-Medrol 500 mg and 1 g contain benzyl alcohol, which can cause severe side effects in infants and young children. Do not use for newborns or children under 3 years unless directed by a doctor.
