This medicine, Solifenacin/Tamsulosin Stada, helps men with moderate to severe bladder and urination problems caused by an enlarged prostate, especially when one medicine alone hasn't worked well enough.

How to Use

Dosage

The daily maximum dose is one tablet, containing 6 mg of solifenacin and 0.4 mg of tamsulosin.

Method

Take the tablet by mouth. You can take it with or without food, as you prefer. Do not crush or chew the tablet.

Important

One tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

  • Dizziness
  • Blurred vision
  • Dry mouth
  • Indigestion (dyspepsia)
  • Constipation
  • Nausea
  • Stomach pain
  • Abnormal ejaculation (ejaculation disorder), meaning semen may go into the bladder instead of out, or ejaculation is reduced/absent. This is harmless.
  • Fatigue
RARE
  • Acute urinary retention (sudden inability to urinate)
  • Rash (which may itch)
  • Hives (urticaria)
  • Urinary tract infection, bladder infection (cystitis)
  • Drowsiness
  • Taste disorders (dysgeusia)
  • Headache
  • Dry eyes
  • Fast or irregular heartbeat (palpitations)
  • Dizziness or weakness, especially when standing up (orthostatic hypotension)
  • Runny or stuffy nose (rhinitis)
  • Dry nasal mucous membranes
  • Reflux disease (heartburn)
  • Diarrhea
  • Dry throat
  • Vomiting
  • Itching (pruritus)
  • Dry skin
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Fluid retention in the lower legs (edema)
  • Tiredness (asthenia)
  • Fainting (syncope)
  • Severe constipation (fecal impaction in the large intestine)
  • Skin allergy causing swelling under the skin (angioedema)
  • Hallucinations, confusion
  • Skin rash, inflammation and blistering on the skin and/or mucous membranes of the lips, eyes, mouth, nose or genitals (Stevens-Johnson syndrome)
  • Allergic skin reaction (erythema multiforme)
  • Prolonged and painful erection (usually not during sexual activity) (priapism)
  • Severe allergic reaction causing breathing difficulties or dizziness (anaphylactic reaction)
  • Decreased appetite
  • High potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia) which may cause heart rhythm problems
  • Rapid decline in consciousness and mental function (delirium)
  • Increased eye pressure (glaucoma)
  • Worsened vision
  • Irregular or abnormal heartbeats (arrhythmias)
  • Fast heartbeat (tachycardia)
  • Shortness of breath (dyspnea)
  • Voice disorder
  • Nosebleed (epistaxis)
  • Bowel obstruction (ileus)
  • Stomach discomfort
  • Liver dysfunction
  • Skin inflammation with redness and peeling over large areas of the body (exfoliative dermatitis)
  • Muscle weakness
  • Kidney dysfunction

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to solifenacin, tamsulosin, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you are undergoing dialysis treatment.
  • Do not use if you have a severe liver disease.
  • Do not use if you have severe kidney disease AND are taking medicines that slow down the removal of Solifenacin/Tamsulosin Stada from your body (e.g., ketoconazole, ritonavir, nelfinavir, itraconazole). Your doctor or pharmacist will have told you if this applies to you.
  • Do not use if you have moderate liver disease AND are taking medicines that slow down the removal of Solifenacin/Tamsulosin Stada from your body (e.g., ketoconazole, ritonavir, nelfinavir, itraconazole). Your doctor or pharmacist will have told you if this applies to you.

  • Do not use if you have a severe stomach or bowel disease (including toxic megacolon, a complication linked to ulcerative colitis).
  • Do not use if you have myasthenia gravis, a muscle disease that causes severe muscle weakness.
  • Do not use if you have high eye pressure (glaucoma) and worsening vision.
  • Do not use if you often feel dizzy or faint when changing positions (sitting up or standing up) due to low blood pressure (orthostatic hypotension).
