How to Use

Dosage

Usually 5 mg once daily, unless your doctor has prescribed 10 mg once daily.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with a little liquid, such as a glass of water. You can take it with or without food. Do not crush the tablets.

Important

Never take more than one dose per day.

  • Hallucinations, confusion

  • Decreased appetite
  • High blood potassium that can cause abnormal heart rhythm
  • Increased eye pressure
  • Changes in heart's electrical activity (ECG), irregular heartbeat, feeling your heart beat, faster heartbeat (palpitations)
  • Voice problems
  • Liver dysfunction
  • Muscle weakness
  • Kidney dysfunction

Important Warnings

  • If you have difficulty urinating or emptying your bladder completely.
  • If you have a severe stomach or bowel disease, like toxic megacolon or ulcerative colitis.
  • If you have myasthenia gravis, a muscle disease causing severe muscle weakness.
  • If you have uncontrolled glaucoma (high eye pressure leading to progressive vision loss).
  • If you are allergic to solifenacin or any other ingredient in this medicine.

  • If you are on dialysis.
  • If you have severe liver disease.
  • If you have severe kidney disease, or moderate liver problems AND are taking medicines that slow down the removal of Solifenacin Stada from your body (e.g., ketoconazole).
  • If you have constipation or your digestive system is slow.
  • If you have a stomach hernia (hiatus hernia) or heartburn.
  • If you have an autonomic neuropathy (nerve disease).
  • Stop taking Solifenacin Stada and seek immediate medical attention if you experience allergic reactions or severe skin reactions (e.g., blistering or peeling of the skin).
  • Stop taking Solifenacin Stada and seek immediate medical attention if you experience angioedema (swelling beneath the skin surface) associated with breathing difficulties (airway obstruction).

Use in Elderly Patients

Category D

Avoid use in older adults. Anticholinergic. Reduce the dose in severe renal impairment. Significant adverse effects include tachycardia, confusion and cognitive impairment.. Consider the risk of QT prolongation especially when combined with other QT-prolonging drugs. Increases risk of falls. Reduces the effectiveness of drugs for Alzheimer’s disease. (updated 25.11.2024)
