How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose is 5 mg once a day, but your doctor might tell you to take 10 mg. If you have severe kidney or moderate liver problems, do not take more than 5 mg daily.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with a liquid. You can take it with or without food, as you prefer. Do not crush the tablet.

  • Inability to empty bladder (urinary retention)

  • High potassium levels in blood, which can cause abnormal heart rhythm
  • Increased eye pressure
  • Changes in heart's electrical activity (ECG), irregular pulse
  • Complete bowel obstruction (ileus)
  • Severe confusion with altered activity, sleep problems, and hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that aren't real)
  • Voice problems
  • Liver dysfunction or abnormal liver test results in blood tests
  • Muscle weakness
  • Kidney dysfunction
  • Stomach discomfort
  • Red and flaky skin (exfoliative dermatitis)
  • Palpitations, rapid pulse

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to solifenacin or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have severe difficulty urinating or cannot empty your bladder completely.
  • Do not take if you have a severe stomach or bowel condition (including toxic megacolon, a complication of ulcerative colitis).
  • Do not take if you have myasthenia gravis, a muscle disease that causes extreme weakness.
  • Do not take if you have high pressure in your eyes (glaucoma) or a risk of developing it.

  • Do not take if you are on dialysis, have severe liver disease, or severe kidney disease. Also, do not take if you have moderate liver or kidney problems and are taking other medicines that can increase solifenacin levels in your body.
  • This medicine should not be used by children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
  • Do not use during pregnancy unless your doctor says it's absolutely necessary.
  • Do not use while breastfeeding, as the medicine may pass into breast milk.
  • This medicine may cause blurred vision, drowsiness, or tiredness. Do not drive or operate machines if you experience these effects.
