The recommended maximum daily dose is 40 ml per kg of body weight.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Slight increase in body temperature.
  • Inflammation of veins at the injection site.
RARE
  • High liver enzyme levels in the blood.
  • Loss of appetite.
  • Nausea.
  • Vomiting.
  • Chills.
  • Dizziness.
  • Headache.
  • Low or high blood pressure.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Fast heartbeat (palpitations).
  • Allergic reactions (symptoms can include swelling, fever, low blood pressure, rash, hives, redness, headache).
  • Feelings of cold or heat.
  • Pale skin.
  • Bluish lips and skin due to low oxygen levels in the blood.
  • Neck, back, bone, chest, and lower back pain.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to any ingredients in this medicine, or to fish, eggs, peanuts, or soy.
  • Do not use if you have very high levels of fat in your blood.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver problems.
  • Do not use if you have problems with blood clotting.
  • Do not use if you have severe kidney disease and are not on dialysis.

  • Do not use if you have too much fluid in your body or lungs.
  • Do not use if you have untreated heart failure.
  • Tell your nurse or doctor right away if you get fever, rash, swelling, difficulty breathing, chills, sweating, nausea, or vomiting during the infusion. These could be signs of an allergic reaction or too much medicine.
