Important Warnings

  • Stop taking this medicine and contact a doctor immediately if you experience severe stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without nausea and vomiting, as these could be signs of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas).
  • If you develop symptoms of lactic acidosis (e.g., feeling cold or unwell, severe nausea or vomiting, stomach pain, unexplained weight loss, muscle cramps, or fast breathing), stop taking this medicine and contact a doctor or nearest hospital immediately, as lactic acidosis can lead to coma.
  • If you have a severe allergic reaction (e.g., rash, hives, skin blistering/peeling, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, and throat that may cause breathing or swallowing difficulties), stop taking this medicine and contact a doctor immediately.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Avoid excessive alcohol use while taking this medicine, as it can increase the risk of lactic acidosis.
