How to Use

Dosage

  • Hepatitis (liver inflammation)
  • Hives
  • Skin redness (rash)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to sitagliptin, metformin, or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe kidney disease.
  • Do not take this medicine if your diabetes is poorly controlled and you have very high blood sugar, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rapid weight loss, or a serious condition called ketoacidosis (when ketones build up in your blood).
  • Do not take this medicine if you have a severe infection or are very dehydrated (lack of body fluids).
  • If you are having an X-ray or scan that uses an injected dye, you must stop taking this medicine before the procedure and only restart it as your doctor tells you, often several days later.

  • Do not take this medicine if you have recently had a heart attack or have severe circulation problems, such as shock or trouble breathing.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have liver disease.
  • Do not take this medicine if you drink a lot of alcohol (daily or sometimes), as it can increase the risk of a serious side effect called lactic acidosis.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are breastfeeding.
  • Stop taking this medicine and get medical help right away if you get symptoms of lactic acidosis: severe tiredness, muscle cramps, stomach pain, rapid and difficult breathing, feeling cold, and a slow heartbeat.
  • Stop taking this medicine and get medical help right away if you get severe, constant stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without nausea and vomiting. These could be signs of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas).
  • Stop taking this medicine and get medical help right away if you get signs of a severe allergic reaction: rash, hives, skin blisters/peeling, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, which may cause trouble breathing or swallowing.
