How to Use

Dosage

Take one tablet twice a day.

Method

Take with meals to help prevent stomach upset.

Important

Do not take more than two tablets a day (maximum 100 mg sitagliptin and 2000 mg metformin).

  • Muscle pain
  • Back pain
  • Lung disease (interstitial lung disease)
  • Skin blisters
  • Liver inflammation (hepatitis)
  • Hives
  • Skin rash or redness

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to this medicine or its ingredients.
  • Do not take if you have severe kidney or liver problems.
  • Do not take if your diabetes is out of control, or if you have severe infections or are very dehydrated.
  • Do not take if you recently had a heart attack or severe circulation problems.
  • Stop taking this medicine before and for a few days after certain X-ray tests that use a special dye.

  • Avoid drinking too much alcohol while on this medicine.
  • Do not take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Stop taking immediately and see a doctor if you have severe stomach pain, with or without feeling sick, as this could be a serious pancreas problem.
  • Stop taking immediately and go to the nearest hospital if you have signs of lactic acidosis (e.g., vomiting, stomach pain, muscle cramps, extreme tiredness, trouble breathing), as this is a medical emergency.
  • Tell your doctor if you develop skin blisters, as you may need to stop this medicine.
  • Stop taking immediately and see a doctor if you have a severe allergic reaction (rash, hives, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, or trouble breathing).
