How to Use

Dosage

One 100 mg tablet.

Method

Once daily, by mouth. Can be taken with or without food.

Important

The maximum recommended dose is one 100 mg tablet once a day.

  • Kidney problems (sometimes requiring dialysis)
  • Joint pain
  • Muscle pain
  • Back pain
  • Interstitial lung disease
  • Bullous pemphigoid (a type of skin blistering)

Important Warnings

  • Stop taking this medicine and call your doctor right away if you get severe and persistent stomach pain, which could be a sign of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas).
  • Stop taking this medicine and seek medical help immediately if you have a serious allergic reaction, including rash, hives, skin peeling, and swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, which may cause difficulty breathing or swallowing.
  • If you develop blisters on your skin, tell your doctor, as this could be a sign of a severe skin condition called bullous pemphigoid.
  • If you take this medicine with a sulfonylurea or insulin, you may experience low blood sugar. Your doctor may need to adjust your dose of sulfonylurea or insulin.
  • This medicine should not be used by children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

  • Talk to your doctor if you have or have had pancreatitis, gallstones, alcohol dependence, high triglyceride levels, type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, or kidney problems.
