How to Use
Dosage
The usual dose is one 100 mg tablet once a day. If you have kidney problems, your doctor may give you a lower dose (like 25 mg or 50 mg).
Method
Take the tablet by mouth, with or without food. The 50 mg and 100 mg tablets can be split in half.
Important
The usual maximum daily dose is 100 mg.

Important Warnings
- Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to sitagliptin or any other ingredient in it.
- Tell your doctor if you have ever had pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), gallstones, alcohol dependence, or very high fat levels in your blood, as these can increase your risk of pancreatitis.
- If you develop blisters on your skin, tell your doctor. This could be a sign of a serious skin condition, and your doctor may tell you to stop taking this medicine.
- Inform your doctor if you have type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious diabetes complication), or kidney problems.
- This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
