How to Use

Dosage

One 100 mg tablet once a day. Your doctor may prescribe a lower dose (25 mg or 50 mg) if you have kidney problems.

Method

Take the tablet by mouth, with or without food.

Important

The maximum dose is one 100 mg tablet per day.

Important Warnings

  • Stop taking this medicine and contact your doctor immediately if you have severe and persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without nausea and vomiting. These could be signs of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas).
  • If you get a severe allergic reaction like rash, hives, skin blisters, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, stop taking this medicine and contact your doctor right away.
  • If you notice blisters on your skin, contact your doctor. This could be a sign of a serious skin condition.
  • Tell your doctor if you have or have had pancreatitis, gallstones, high levels of fats in your blood, type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, kidney problems, or an allergic reaction to this medicine.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor if you are planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Category C
